Towards a harmonized and synergistic prevention of dementia and stroke - WP7

The main objective of this work package is to provide a framework for dementia and stroke prevention in the participating countries through the identification and characterization of interventions, estimation of potentially preventable cases for both conditions, and promotion of a training/information intervention for health-care professionals, healthy individuals/individuals with lived experiences (patients)/caregivers.

The specific objectives of WP7 are:

• Support the planning activities of decision- and policy-makers responsible for dementia and stroke.
• Favour the adoption of population-based prevention strategies adaptable to specific contexts.
• Facilitate the monitoring of modifiable risk factors in different populations.
• Support research on the prevention of dementia and stroke.
