Early detection of neurocognitive disorders - WP6

The main objective of this work package is to review the scientific and medical literature regarding the unmet needs/challenges in early detection of neurocognitive disorders, to create specific educational materials for specialists, and to develop specialized toolbox for early detection.

The specific objectives of WP6 are:

  • To provide the EU Members States clear with evidence-based information about risks/benefits and barriers/facilitators for early/timely diagnosis rates, particularly in young people and vulnerable groups and in the predementia Alzheimer disease stage.
  • To define unmet needs and best practices on educational dementia programs for professionals with focus on young people, vulnerable communities and predementia Alzheimer disease stage.
  • To define best practices to reduce stigma and raising the public awareness to early signs of neurocognitive disorders with focus on very early stages of the disease, young people and vulnerable communities.
  • To define best practices on early detection of neurocognitive disorders by digital health and high-tech tools, e.g. telemedicine, mobile applications, and artificial intelligence techniques.
