Health literacy and data accessibility - WP5

The main objective of this work package is to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and stroke in the EU by improving epidemiological surveillance and the respective health literacy among a variety of target groups.

The specific objectives of WP5 are:

• To analyse the status quo, strengths, and weaknesses of surveillance of neurodegenerative diseases in Europe, to present the disease progression, effectiveness of treatments of neurological disorders and disease burden of Alzheimer’s disease and stroke in selected countries and to make recommendations.
• To identify the current situation in the field of neurodegenerative diseases and stroke health literacy in Europe in various target groups, pilot examples of good practice in promoting health literacy in selected countries and develop a toolbox in this area.
