Description: ADAFA was created in June 1996 in Gijón, and is formed, managed and run by direct relatives of Alzheimer's patients. Among its main activities are: conduct or support all kinds of studies, research, symposia, meetings and conferences aimed at a better understanding of the disease; To advise and guide the relatives of Alzheimer's and dementia patients in legal, sociological, health and economic matters; Facilitate assistance to patients to improve their quality of life in the family environment, whenever possible; And, among others, to urge the corresponding Administrations to provide specific social and health coverage for Alzheimer's disease, so that care is integrated into the public social and health network.
