JADE Health is really pleased to announce Miguel Rosa Morán Foundation among its stakeholders the owners of a large number of nursing homes in Spain!

Miguel Rosa Morán Foundation (FMRN) is a non-profit organisation that aims to be a benchmark in terms of quality of life and well-being for people over 55 years of age. In addition, it establishes ways to improve the well-being of this age group and participates in the prevention of ageism and other social biases.

Miguel Rosa Morán was a real person native of Extremadura, from Villafranca de los Barros who knew the importance of experience with people of a certain age and how this skill could be a life changer in society. The Foundation that bears his name carries on his values and philosophy of active ageing that requires a broader understanding of ageing as just another life cycle, allowing the freedom to make choices and establish personal projects and help to promote the welfare of aging people.

Miguel Rosa Morán Foundation maintains a residential complex SENIOR LIVING ROSALBA and has a network of almost 1,000 beds in residential centres for the elderly where active living is encouraged. By optimising health opportunities, promoting participation and providing security, the old age homes of the Foundation allow freedom for their residents to choose how they want to live.

Miguel Rosa Morán Foundation participates in different research activities e.g. how physical exercises improve elderly people’s functional and cognitive capacity and even their immune system; or how performing certain strength exercises can prevent and delay physical and cognitive decline in people over 55.

The Foundation also analysis the Mediterranean culture of co-housing experiences enabling elderly people to continue to live where they have chosen and keep their social support network close.

By testing Aquatime cup - an optimal solution for nursing and care homes- FMRN deals with the issue of dehydration among the elderly.  Aquatime cup is a device that can monitor the individual citizen´s fluid intake, and can measure how much the individual user drinks. In addition, the cup also has a preventive effect, for example, a melody which can help to remind the user to drink.

We are thrilled to work together with FMRN, and start a conversation about dementia care, innovation, support and unite to assist those living with dementia and their caregivers!
