As we mark World Alzheimer’s Month this September, JADE Health is reinforcing its commitment to raising awareness, improving understanding of dementia and challenging the stigma that still surrounds neurological disorders.

Awareness does not end with a single campaign or month. It requires ongoing conversations, accessible information and spaces where people can learn, share and engage. Social media can play an important role in making these conversations part of everyday life.

Six months ago JADEMENTIA launched an Instagram account to raise awareness of dementia and understanding neurological diseases.

During this period, different themes and key messages have been shared to create a space where people can learn, share and better understand dementia and other neurological disorders, helping to reduce stigma and promote more inclusive communities.

The Instagram platform is focusing on the general public and patients' families with the aim to enhance visibility of the project as well as engaging with existing online communities & forums related to mental health.

During the first six months, JADE Health has been sharing information and resources through a series of posts, including infographics and videos covering key topics such as:

  •     Understanding dementia and challenging common myths.
  •     Prevention of social isolation.
  •     Promotion of user-friendly and accessible environments.
  •     Encouragement of early access to diagnosis and care.
  •     Caring about the caregiver: making the role of caregivers visible and supporting their emotional well-being.
  •     Promote healthy lifestyle habits that can prevent and reduce the risk of developing dementia and other neurological diseases.
