JA JADE Health presented its progress at the meeting of the European Governmental Experts on Dementia – organised by Alzheimer Europe
Alzheimer Europe regularly organises virtual meetings for a Group of European Governmental Experts from all over Europe to provide a platform to receive information and discuss undergoing anti-dementia research or treatments, interesting projects, and EU policy developments.
Following introducing our Joint Action at the very same forum in November, Bernardino Morillo, representing the consortium leader FundeSalud, was invited again to showcase the progress made during the past four months at the 9th April virtual meeting this time with a special focus on the implementation of JADEHealth’s and its pilots.
Jean Georges, executive director greeted participants and presented the agenda.
First Angela Bradshaw (Alzheimer Europe) gave an account about the anti-amyloid therapies and treatment, and overviewed the current HTA and reimbursement discussions in in Europe, USA and Japan.
Then Owen Miller (Alzheimer Europe) covered the most important and recent EU development including Brain Health Day events, EU4Health Programme issues and cross-border protection for vulnerable groups.
In the Jadementia.eu block Bernardino Morillo highlighted the advancement of the six different technical work packages, including best practices, selected technical tools to be tested via the planned pilots, upcoming awareness campaigns and established project communications platforms. Welcomed Ireland as a new participating country in the JA and encouraged all interested parties to join either as a pilot implementer or as a stakeholder.
In the second part of the event the audience could learn about the new Polish Dementia Strategy- introduced by Malgorzata Michalska (Department of Health Equity, Polish Ministry of Health), followed by Svenja Caspers, chair of the expert working group, Fosrschungszentrum Jülich and University of Düsseldorf, Germany, who presented the data -driven dementia prevention recommendations for the German dementia strategy.
The online session provided yet again a great opportunity to introduce our activities for acknowledged European experts.
We are grateful for Alzheimer Europe for the organisation and their cooperation.
