Our JA was highlighted in Riga at the conference

5th March,2026 the Latvian project team of our Joint Action participated at the conference "People with Dementia: Accessibility, Solutions and Innovations" organised at the Riga Technical University Institute of Architecture and Design, in Riga.

The hybrid event was initiated by the Latvian Alzheimer’s Association in cooperation with AccessibleEU and APEIRONS (Association of Disabled People and Their Friends) and was realised by the participation of approximately 100 participants, both offline and online.

The theme of the conference focused on dementia accessibility and well-being solutions with the goal to bring together professionals from social care, healthcare, design, and local government sectors.

Jade Health Latvian team was represented by Jekaterina Kozacenko and Kristïne Šneidere, from the Institute of Public Health of Riga Stradinš University (RSU) who were sharing their experience working with seniors, dementia prevention, and well-being promotion at the municipal level.

Colleagues from JADE Health’s Work Package 8 dealing with care pathways for persons with dementia and neurodegenerative disorders were joining the conference:

Piret Purdelo Tomingas from the Dementia Competence Centre (Estonia), and Birute Bartkeviciute  from Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Hospital (Lithuania) who showcased their professional experience having gained in early symptom recognition, organising patient pathways, and presented practical support solutions for effected families.
