Our Joint Action Was Highlighted at the Monthly Dementia Research Dialogues Session of WHO’s Dementia Research Community
On 30th July, 2025 JADE Health was invited to participate in the Dementia Research Dialogues: Where Blueprint Meets Practice, an initiative launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) to support the implementation of the A blueprint for dementia research. This global framework aims to accelerate dementia research, improve care, and promote prevention through collaboration, innovation, and shared actions.
The session, which gathered around 40 participants, was facilitated by Laura García Díaz, WHO consultant, and introduced by Katrin Seeher, Mental Health Specialist at WHO. Katrin presented the overall objectives of the Blueprint, highlighting its role as a strategic guide to align global efforts in dementia. She noted that several of JADE Health’s work packages are well aligned with the Blueprint’s six thematic areas.
Bernardino Morillo, coordinator of the JADE Health project, followed with a detailed presentation of the project's general and specific objectives, funding structure, composition of the Consortium, and the various work packages that structure JADE Health. He closed his remarks by encouraging individuals and organizations to join the project as stakeholders and contribute to its ongoing development and impact.
The final part of the session was dedicated to questions and open discussion, touching on key issues such as international collaboration. It was emphasized that Joint Actions—like JADE Health—are designed to foster cooperation among EU Member States to strengthen public health, respond to cross-border health threats, and share knowledge. A key objective of these initiatives is also to support the transfer and implementation of good practices in critical areas of health.
The session proved to be a great platform for discussions. Jadehealth’s consortium feels privileged for the possibility to become a part of a global collaboration that contributes to the advancement of dementia research, bringing together devoted experts committed to provide quality person centred care and fight stigma.
We thank WHO for the invitation and look forward to deepening our stakeholder cooperation!
